This year, Filmfare gave away Special Legend Awards to two of the biggest icons Chiranjeevi and Mammootty. They were presented the award by an equally distinguished legend Amitabh Bachchan . It was a moment of delight for photographers as three of India's finest actors shared the stage. A greedy connoisseur might rue the absence of Rajnikanth but nobody was complaining, as it does not get bigger than this.  Here are the bytes from the legends...... 

               Chiranjeevi:  "This is a special award for me, coming as it is on such a landmark year for the South Indian film fraternity. This year besides being the Platinum Jubilee of Tollywood, is also the 60th anniversary of Indian independence," he said. He had a word of advice for everybody. "Film is a very powerful medium and as artistes we can contribute by drawing attention to burning issues.  I appeal to all filmmakers to be mindful of their responsibilities," he added.

              Mammootty:  "I feel on top of the world today, to be called a legend, to be awarded the statuette by a legend, (Amitabh Bachchan) and to, receive it in the presence of alegend-Chiranjeevi, and all this in the presence of the entire South Indian film industry.  I am happy and blessed.  I will keep this lady (referring to the statuette) close to my heart". When he was given the Best Actor Award by Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan, he said, "Aishwarya and I did a film together...This is the most-celebrated couple of the country...I couldn't make it for their wedding but am glad to be receiving the award from them."
